Moravian Blessing rustic wooden sign


Prayed or sung by Moravians as a special grace or table blessing before meals, the Moravian Blessing, also known as the “Common Table Prayer” (Tisch-Gebetgen) was first published in German in a Moravian hymnal in 1753. Its authorship remains unknown today, and some believe it originates from an older Lutheran text.
